In collaboration with the Recruitment and Admissions leadership team, the Associate Director of Admissions Visits & Experiences plays a critical role in the design and implementation of the campus visit and experience strategies. These visits and experiences include on- and off-campus events in both in-person and virtual/remote modalities. Experiences and visitation opportunities are developed to showcase CU Denver to prospective students, families, high school and community college counselors, community partners, and student and campus organizations with the goal of attracting and enrolling new students to CU Denver.

Associate Director of Admissions Visits & Experiences

What you will do:

Campus Visits & Events
  • Plan, promote, facilitate, and manage approximately 10-15 large-scale recruitment and yield events each year.
  • Design and reimagine the current campus visit program and gather, analyze, and provide feedback on data from all recruitment events and share with key campus stakeholders for continuous improvement efforts.
  • Support group visits to campus and oversee daily campus tour visits highlighting CU Denver services, facilities, and the unique spirit and attributes of our campus.
  • Oversee school and community partnerships as they pertain to Undergraduate Recruitment, Admissions, and Outreach
  • Collaborate with CU Denver faculty and staff within the Colleges and Schools to educate and involve them in the recruitment process and campus visits and support other prospective student pipeline programming.
  • Prepares bi-monthly and ad hoc reports on event activity, registration, and effectiveness.
  • Support planning, content development, and promotion of off-campus recruitment events hosted by Admissions Counselors and Recruitment staff.
  • Partner with recruitment-adjacent units to align messaging, audience, outcomes, and tracking of participants for events occurring across campus, Veteran and Military Student Services (VMSS), Honors and Leadership, Pre-Collegiate Development Program (PCDP), Summer Camp Programs, and more.
  • Manage events and outreach budgets.

Management, Supervision, and Training
  • Supervise the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Outreach & Admissions Pathways and two Graduate Assistants who will hire, supervise, and continuously train Student Ambassadors and student customer service staff who assist with recruitment and yield events, group visits, daily campus tours, office administration including reception desk and phone staffing.
  • Inform the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment and other senior-level staff about developing and ongoing issues or concerns, prioritize issues and concerns that require immediate action, and act on behalf of the Director when necessary.
  • Create and provide training to entire Undergraduate Admissions & K-12 Outreach staff and school and college partners as necessary in the interest of making our events as impactful as possible.
  • Participate in Collegiate Information and Visitor Services Association (CIVSA) to remain current on best practices and represent CU Denver Office of Undergraduate Admissions & K-12 Outreach at both on-campus, off-campus, and virtual events.
  • Manage student employment salary budget.

Leadership
  • Serve as a member of the management team within the Admissions team.
  • Recommend strategies, partnerships, programs, and technologies that will advance recruitment and outreach efforts of the University.
  • Actively engage in cross-team project planning and management

Other
  • Purchase and handle admissions promotional products: merchandise, inflatables, feather flags, signage, and other materials.
  • Maintain Admissions website.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established at $68,042 - $70,000.

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.

  • A bachelor's degree in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field from an accredited institution.
  • Five (5) years in education, psychology, business, public administration, health care, educational technology, social science, liberal arts, communications, accounting, finance, library science, or a directly related field

Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis.
