The Office of Admissions fulfills the obligations of the UNCP strategic recruitment plan, and supports enrollment growth by driving and meeting key metrics associated with the new student enrollment funnel, building brand awareness and helping prospective students find the value in a UNCP education leading them to choose and enroll at UNCP.
Primary Purpose of Position:
The primary purpose of this position is to support the growth of transfer student enrollment by leading the strategic efforts tied to transfer support such as developing and implementing prospective transfer events, pipeline programming and partnerships, advising on time to degree, and leading and supporting a unit focused on transfer recruitment and enrollment coaching.
Job Description:
The Associate Director of Transfer Student Recruitment at UNC Pembroke is responsible for leading and managing recruitment strategies specifically targeted towards in-state and out-of-state transfer students. There is also a focus on special populations such as military students and contemporary adult learners. This role requires a strategic, data-driven approach to enhance and expand transfer recruitment efforts across the 58 North Carolina Community Colleges and beyond. The Associate Director will work closely with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions to drive enrollment goals, develop effective recruitment plans, contribute to the management and curation of Pathway agreements, design a holistic campus visits and events program at 12 of UNCP's feeder community colleges that involve ensuring UNCP representation (faculty, staff, students) is on each campus at least twice a month, design reports to measure the interactions at each campus, represent UNC Pembroke as a member of the UNC System Transfer Group, and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders leading to enhanced partnerships and awareness building for transfer students.Key Responsibilities: 50% - Develop and implement comprehensive recruitment strategies for in-state and out-of-state transfer students- Create targeted plans to engage special populations, including military students and their families, to increase enrollment and support their transition to UNC Pembroke.- Analyze recruitment data and trends to adjust strategies and ensure alignment with institutional goals.- Lead recruitment efforts at 58 North Carolina community colleges, building and maintaining strong relationships with college advisors and faculty.- Create the institutional plan for transfer recruitment events, including annual individual campus visit plan for each community college, as well as plan and participate in transfer fairs, and community outreach programs.- Develop informational materials tailored to the needs of transfer students utilized by all UNCP stakeholder groups representing UNCP at community college and transfer fairs. 50% - Collaborate with academic departments, student services, and military and veteran support services to deliver a seamless transfer experience for students.- Work with the Director of Undergraduate Admissions and Vice Chancellor of Enrollment to align recruitment efforts with broader admissions strategies and institutional priorities.- Establish and maintain partnerships with community colleges and military organizations to facilitate effective recruitment and support.- Supervise and mentor recruitment staff focused on transfer students, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of recruitment strategies, providing regular reports and insights to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions.- Utilize data to identify areas for improvement and implement best practices to enhance recruitment outcomes.- Utilize technology to create transfer pre-evaluations and deliver information to applicants; determine ways to leverage Degree Works is by prospective transfer students and advisors-Manage current new student transcript evaluation in partnership with the Registrar's Office.Qualifications:- Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in related field preferred.- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in admissions, recruitment, or related areas, with a proven track record of successful transfer student recruitment and management.- Skills:- Strong strategic planning and organizational skills with the ability to develop and implement effective recruitment strategies.- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships with various stakeholders.- Experience working with community colleges and military populations is highly desirable.- Proficiency in data analysis and the use of CRM (Target X is current solution).- Demonstrated leadership and team management abilities.Other Requirements:- Ability to travel frequently within North Carolina and to out-of-state locations as needed.- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends during peak recruitment periods.
Management Preference:
Master's degree in Higher Education or related field, with 3 years of direct experience managing a transfer student funnel, transcript evaluation, and partnership development benefiting the enrollment and success of the transfer student population.
