Associate Director of Student Services Central

The Associate Director of Student Services Central supports the management of SSC operations and staff across both the Middletown and Newburgh campuses. SSC operates as a one-stop center, providing essential enrollment services such as admissions, financial aid, registration, and student accounts to current and prospective students and their families through in-person, phone, email, and online channels. The Associate Director will assist in supervising and training a team of Enrollment Specialists and Welcome Desk staff, ensuring they are cross-trained in all key areas of enrollment services to deliver an optimal student experience. Working closely with the Director, the Associate Director helps ensure compliance with College policies and procedures while maintaining prompt, courteous, and comprehensive service delivery. This position requires travel between both campuses.

Job Requirements:
Education Required: Bachelor's Degree

Experience Required: Three years of increasingly responsible work experience in Student/Enrollment Services or a related field with a high level of direct student/customer contact. A minimum of one year of supervisory experience. Excellent written and oral communication skills, focus on service to students, and strong computer and technical skills.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
  • Prior work experience in a community college or higher education, preferably in one of the functional areas of SSC.
  • Working knowledge of Banner, preferable Banner 9 Admin, or another student information system.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, and experience working with the public.
  • Perform well under pressure, within time constraints, with a high degree of accuracy, diplomacy and confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, and all college employees.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate complex information and regulations.
  • Ability to coordinate work flow while dealing with multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites.
  • Bilingual skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish.

Salary: 54,800 - 72,591 per annum; commensurate with experience. This is a Staff & Chair, Grade 60, 12 month position.
