Position Overview:
The Recruitment Marketing Project Manager/Marketing Manager ensures effective coordination and alignment with our institutional goals and priorities, primarily focusing on student recruitment. Reporting to the Senior Director of Enrollment, this role will work collaboratively with admissions leadership to develop, implement, and manage all recruitment marketing strategies to drive the growth of new student enrollment for the university. By fostering strong collaboration and communication, the Recruitment Marketing Project Manager will ensure that all initiatives are strategically aligned, efficiently executed, and contribute to our overarching objectives of attracting and enrolling students.
This is an exempt, full-time position located in Fremont, CA, with eligibility for a hybrid schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and assess multi-channel marketing strategies to support enrollment goals for undergraduate and graduate programs.
- Oversee third-party vendors, including print vendors, designers, photographers, and freelancers, ensuring deliverables align with brand standards and support total enrollment goals.
- Measure campaign ROI, report on key metrics like cost-per-lead and conversion rates, and constantly refine strategies for better outcomes.
- Create and manage digital marketing strategies, print materials, and audience-specific campaigns to enhance recruitment efforts.
- Maintain a unified tone and voice across all marketing channels, ensuring alignment with the University's brand.
- Oversee the collection of student stories, creation of social media content and print materials to enhance prospective student engagement and increase brand awareness of SFBU program/degree offerings.
- Track and analyze campaign performance, making data-informed adjustments to improve conversion rates at all stages of the recruitment funnel.
- Monitor marketing trends and leverage general awareness of higher education to optimize lead generation and conversion rates.
- Represent the university at on-campus and virtual recruitment events, especially during peak periods.
- Maintain relationships with faculty, staff, students, and alums to feature in recruitment marketing and to help increase brand awareness.
- Develop and oversee a strategic enrollment marketing production/project calendar.
- Hire, train, mentor, and supervise staff (Social Media Specialist).
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience). Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
- Proven success in recruitment marketing, preferably in higher education.
- Proven experience in leading teams or projects, demonstrating strong leadership and management skills.
- Strong experience with digital marketing, social media content management, graphic and digital design systems, and marketing-related technology tools.
- Experience and comfort with data analysis and the ability to interpret trends, create reports, and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Work evenings and weekends as required to accommodate campus events, with prioritization of enrollment events.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to develop and execute comprehensive recruitment marketing strategies that align with institutional goals.
- Ability to quickly adjust tactics, strategies, and communications based on a fluid higher education market and data insights.
- Familiarity with various digital, social, and design tools and platforms, including Canva, InDesign, WordPress, Google Analytics, Microsoft Office suite of products, etc.
- Excellent communication (verbal, written, and digital) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence prospective students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fluid environment, prioritize goals, and independently manage multiple, diverse, competing priorities while meeting deadlines.
- Strong project management skills and the ability to coordinate senior leadership, vendors, and others to meet deadlines.
- Experience in leading and managing teams, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and support staff.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with various stakeholders, including prospective students, alums, faculty, and external partners such as academic institutions and professional organizations.
- Understanding undergraduate and graduate admissions processes, including application review, decision-making, and financial aid.
- Understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and experience in fostering inclusive marketing practices.
- Knowledge of higher education trends, especially undergraduate and graduate education, and the ability to adapt strategies based on evolving market conditions.
- Streamline processes and improve communication between in-house teams and external vendors.
Salary Range: $100,000- $140,000 annually, depending on experience.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Physical demands include lifting limits (20 lbs.), bending, sitting, and driving.
- Job duties are typically performed in an office environment.
